Juvéderm Volux XC is the firmest product in Allergan's Vycross range, formulated at 25 mg/ml hyaluronic acid with 0.3% lidocaine for maximum cohesiveness and structural support. It is FDA- and CE-indicated for deep subcutaneous and/or supraperiosteal injection to improve moderate to severe loss of jawline definition in adults over 21, and is also used to project and reshape the chin. Its high elasticity and cohesivity make it the most structurally supportive product in the Juvéderm portfolio, with reported duration of up to 18–24 months. Juvederm Volux is Allergan's firmest VYCROSS formulation, purpose-built for improving jawline definition via deep subcutaneous or supraperiosteal injection — an indication for which it holds FDA approval in adults with moderate to severe loss of jawline definition. Its high-viscosity, cross-linked gel is designed to provide strong structural support that withstands the dynamic movement of the lower face.

Like the rest of the VYCROSS range, it is pre-mixed with lidocaine for injection comfort and remains reversible with hyaluronidase should any adjustment be required after treatment.

Juvederm Volux is injected into the deep subcutaneous or supraperiosteal plane along the jawline and chin using bolus or linear threading technique, taking extra care to inject slowly with the least pressure needed.

A review appointment is typically scheduled after 2-4 weeks to assess final contouring results.

  • Contraindicated in patients with severe allergies (history of anaphylaxis or multiple severe allergies)
  • Do not inject into blood vessels — may cause embolisation, vessel occlusion, ischaemia or infarction
  • Known hypersensitivity to hyaluronic acid or lidocaine
  • Pregnancy, breastfeeding, or patients under 21
  • History of excessive/hypertrophic scarring (not studied)
